This summer, we are sharing stories of the lessons we have learned from our sanctuary herd. These horses came to us in seasons of life when careers had ended, or age had begun to soften them, and here they are allowed to live without expectation, pressure, or performance. Harley is the only one who ever let us, adopted out with hope and turned with a truth we hadn't yet learned: some horses are meant to come home and stay. When he stepped off the trailer that last time, we promised him he would spend the rest of his life here, held and honored exactly as he is.
These reflections are our way of inviting you into the quiet lessons they continue to offer, about resilience, reverence, belonging, and the holiness of staying. Each story is a glimpse into the lives we've committed to stewarding with tenderness and compassion.
Each week, I will share one story from the sanctuary herd, and every two weeks, a new horse's full reflection will be added here. If you follow us on social media, you'll find the links there as well.
Thank you for walking through this summer with us.
