 Sometimes the connection between the horse and owner must be reconsidered due to personal life changes, the horse's health, or other circumstances. 

 While it is a difficult topic for new and experienced owners, preparing for the possibility of a horse becoming “at risk” or in transition is a crucial aspect of responsible horse ownership from the beginning. 

A few of our rescues experienced the death of an owner, improper rehabilitation or care that resulted in an unrideable horse, and aging out of a discipline.
